Award winning chartered surveyors Caxtons, one of the largest property practices in the South East, has launched a fresh corporate image for the New Year and in addition, appointed a new Chairman.
The company, founded in 1990, and with offices throughout the region, has spent the past six months refreshing its traditional image.
Out has gone the blue and yellow to be replaced by a more dynamic red and charcoal regime, with a modern new font designed to reflect the up to date image that befits the company. This more modern, brighter image echoes the changing face of the company and its fresh, new outlook, according to Marketing Director David Gurton.
Despite the difficult economic times, especially in the property sector, when many companies are cutting back, Caxtons has maintained its position and even gained in some areas, such as lettings and block management.
It was decided that the start of 2012 – a big year for Britain with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Games – was the right time to update the existing brand, which has been widely recognised across Kent and the South East for more than 20 years.
David said: “All businesses need to keep abreast of today’s fast-moving times. Corporate image, just as fashion, is forever moving forward and it is all too easy to become complacent and dated.”
Since July, the company has been working closely with PR consultants RP Communications and graphic designer Darren Gander to fine-tune the new brand, which now appears on everything from its website and advertisements, to letterheads and huge hoardings in Canterbury and Northfleet.
David added: “Whilst we are forward-looking we still retain important traditional values in providing the best possible personal service to, and for, our clients. We believe the new logo and corporate branding reflects the message we want to convey as we expand and grow to meet the demands of the 21st century.”
Caxtons recently received an award from Estates Gazette for Most Active Commercial Agent in Kent; as well as ‘highly commended’ in the Property Managers Awards ‘Managing Agent of a Residents Management Company of the Year’ category.
New Chairman
In November 2010 MD Neil Chatterton took on the added role of Chairman following the untimely death of director James Pilcher. Ron Roser, who has worked as a business consultant with Caxtons for the past 6 years, has now joined Caxtons as a non-executive director and has also been appointed to the role of Chairman.
Ron has a background in banking, where he held a number of senior appointments in a career with Barclays Bank and subsequently spent time in a senior management position for BDO Stoy Hayward, Chartered Accountants. Since 2003, Ron has been an independent business consultant, working principally with professional practices, including accountants, solicitors, banks, and of course, surveyors.
Mr Chatterton said ‘The board is delighted that Ron has joined as non-executive director and Chairman. His objective advice and breadth of experience has proved invaluable and we look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role.’
Operating from offices across Kent, Caxtons offers a full range of property consultancy and management services in the commercial and residential sectors. They manage some 7000 commercial and residential properties throughout Kent and the South East, including shopping centres, industrial estates, offices, residential and student lets.
As well as acting as commercial agents, Caxtons also provides professional services including valuations, lease negotiations, rent reviews, rating appeals, compulsory purchase negotiations, party wall disputes, arbitration and mediation.
