Evans Property Group has secured its final occupier for the Quartz Point, Grade A, office building in the heart of York as global engineering and development consultancy, Mott MacDonald has leased 3,900 sqft until September 2021 at an initial annual rent of £62,900 per annum exclusive. Leading York commercial agents, Lawrence Hannah Ltd represented Evans Property Group with the Leeds office of DTZ representing the tenant.
Quartz Point is an 11,546 sqft office building on The Stonebow close to Parliament Street and immediately opposite the Hungate area of York where a £150m residential and leisure quarter is being developed, in partnership with Evans Property Group. The striking office building is also home to high profile tenants BUPA and Pryers Solicitors.
Mott MacDonald is expanding its York operation by taking this additional accommodation for its existing nearby regional office at Saviour House.
Alan Syers, Portfolio Director at Evans Property Group, said; “Quartz Point has proven to be a welcome addition to the York office market where there is limited new supply of Grade A stock within the traditional heart of the city centre. The key positioning of the offices will become further boosted by the extensive development of the Hungate regeneration scheme which will add to the vibrancy of the whole area.”
Miles Lawrence at Lawrence Hannah, added; “I am delighted that Quartz Point is now 100% occupied by a strong tenant line up. The proximity to Mott MacDonald’s existing office was certainly a factor in this new tenancy but the quality and design of Quartz Point were undoubtedly the prevailing principals in their decision to expand their operation into this building.”
Lawrence Hannah is joint agent on Quartz Point with Flanagan James.
