Leading Birmingham-based commercial property developer Stoford today announced it has begun the development of a warehouse and distribution unit in Essex.
The new 58,000 sq ft unit is being constructed on Stoford’s 2.3-acre Bas55 site on Paycocke Road in Basildon. Work on the development could be completed by April 2015, said Stoford director Dominic Stokes.
Dominic said: “We can confirm that work has begun on a 58,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution unit at our Bas55 site at Basildon in Essex. Benniman Ltd has been appointed construction contractor and we would expect the project to reach practical completion in spring 2015.”
He added: “The site has been vacant since we completed the construction of the Driving Standards Agency unit in 2008. However, due to the recent surge in demand in the warehouse and logistics sector for high quality accommodation we are confident the market will respond positively to our development of the site.”
