Knight Frank has announced the appointment of James Roberts as its London-based Chief Economist.
The role is intended to place Knight Frank at the forefront of debate on the future of global property in the context of a fast changing economic backdrop.
Liam Bailey, Global Head of Research comments: “James has carved an enviable reputation in the commercial property market; he is without doubt the go-too expert for the funds and institutions and his views are respected across the industry.
“In recent years he has widened his commentary, to examine the impact of future trends such as the impact of new technology on office occupiers, work which culminated in the launch of Knight Frank’s Global Cities 2015 report. This appointment will allow James to further develop this role and bring greater understanding of macro-economic trends on the property sector. “
John Snow, Head of Commercial at Knight Frank, said: “Knight Frank’s research proposition has led the way in the market for some time, which is a testament to James’ hard work in particular his highly recognised presentation at our Central London Breakfast.
“I believe that the role of Chief Economist will offer our clients high-level and original insight from an extremely well respected sourcewho is already a dominant voice within the Central London property market.”
James Roberts, Chief Economist, commented: “I am excited by this new opportunity to examine the economy at a time of unprecedented change. Whether it is the rise of new office districts like Brooklyn and Shoreditch, shale gas boosting the US economy, or international money seeking yield compression, the world is abound with unfolding new trends. I look forward to joining the debate.”
James’ new role at Knight Frank commences with immediate effect.
