The Knight Frank retail team have secured two new pop up food and beverage concepts on Charlotte Street, W1, for the landlord Merchant Land. Both brands will be launching on 13th October.
Black Sheep Coffee, an independent coffee operator and café has taken unit 65, totalling 449 sqft, while Mac and Wilde, a new Scottish game restaurant are confirmed to have taken a six month lease on unit 63. Both units’ accommodations are arranged over ground floors.
Merchant Land is keen to bring back the street level units at the terrace in Charlotte St back into use over the Christmas period and support new SME businesses whilst finalising longer term plans for the site.
Josh Braid, Knight Frank retail team, Knight Frank, commented; “Charlotte Street is a renowned food location in the west end and provides a fantastic opportunity for new and emerging concepts to trial concepts in this busy area of London. Pop ups are exciting ways for retailers and restaurant operators to trial an area or concept in a bid to test the consumer reaction without too much investment in fit out due to the short nature of the lease. Pop ups have become a novelty factor with consumers eager to try new exciting and emerging brands. Pop up leases also benefit landlords wanting to have flexibility to either redevelop or fill a void in a high street or shopping centre.”
