A leading Hampshire firm of chartered accountants is relocating two of its offices into a single hub in Southampton after securing new premises with support from national commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH).
Rothmans LLP is bringing together its branches at Oxford Street, Southampton, and Romsey Road, Eastleigh, at new offices at Chilworth.
The company has agreed a 15-year lease for 4,405 sq ft of offices at Chilworth Point, Chilworth Road.
Relocating to the first-floor air-conditioned offices will enable the accountancy firm to further enhance the services it provides for its growing client base, said Habib Brora, partner at Rothmans.
“These are exciting times for Rothmans. As a business, we understand the need to continually adapt in order to keep up with the pace of the modern financial world,” he said.
“Our new Southampton office will allow us to expand the business, provide better accessibility for all our valued clients, as well as visitor parking and a more comfortable meeting experience in our modern premises.
“Our enlarged Southampton team is thrilled to be part of this opportunity and is looking forward to sharing the successes of our clients at our new location in England’s ‘gateway to the world’.
“Andrew Hodgkinson of Lambert Smith Hampton was instrumental in securing this opportunity for us and made the process run seamlessly.”
Andrew Hodgkinson, associate director of office agency at LSH’s South Coast office, acted as letting agents on behalf of the landlord JLG Investments to agree terms for the premises, which offered refurbished open plan office space.
“Chilworth Point occupies one of the most prominent locations in the Southampton area therefore providing superb advertising opportunities to its occupiers. Its position on the outskirts of Southampton allows easy access to the city centre and motorway network, which makes it ideally situated,” he said.
“We had huge interest in the property but we were delighted to work with Rothmans to bring this well-established firm to the premises.”
JLG Investments were also delighted with the letting. A spokesman said: “We were very pleased to welcome Rothmans, and extremely happy with the way LSH worked on the deal, especially keeping in touch until the matter concluded.”
The first-floor office comprises open plan space with a lift up to Rothmans’ new and vibrant reception area. The office benefits from 17 car parking spaces. Neighbouring occupiers include Crawford and Co and The Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Chilworth Point is located on the Chilworth Roundabout at the top of the Avenue and at the southern end of the M3. Southampton International Airport, Southampton docks and the mainline railway stations are a short drive away.
