Product design consultancy GX Group – which develops innovative products for some of the world’s leading medical and healthcare companies – heads out to Dusseldorf next month for Europe’s largest Medtech event where last year they generated business leads estimated in excess of than £650,000 .
GX Group has designed and developed a wide range of innovative and cost-effective instruments, machines and products for companies that operate in the medical and scientific industries.
Their expertise covers a variety of sectors: from scientific instrumentation to healthcare and from diagnostic devices to surgical equipment with a client list that includes Oxford Instruments, Bayer and iSurgicals.
It will be the ninth year in succession the Usk based product technology and innovation company will have exhibited on the Welsh Government stand at Medica (12-15 November) and the event now forms a key component of their yearly sales strategy.
Last year they dealt with enquiries from numerous countries including Turkey, Ireland, France, Australia, USA, Germany and the UK. To date they have already secured three key contracts worth £150,000 with companies they may never have been introduced to had it not been for Medica.
Economy Minister Edwina Hart said; “The Welsh Government is committed to supporting businesses trade internationally and key specialist events like Medica provide a great opportunity for companies to promote themselves on the Wales stand.
“We are able to provide funding support for companies to attend these events which makes it affordable for businesses of all sizes. I am pleased to hear that GX Group has benefited over a number of years and wish the company every success at this year’s event.”
GX Design Engineer’s business development manager Claire Banks said; “Attending the show gives us an international platform to showcase our extensive knowledge of product design and development within the medical and healthcare sector and to demonstrate our web based tracking and management solutions.
“Last year was the best ever from a sales perspective and we are delighted with the result. As we are essentially selling a service it can be a long process from the time a company contacts us with an initial idea to securing funding and going through all the approval processes so discussions are ongoing with a number of these contacts.”
Claire has built up a global database of 500 contacts through Medica which she is now emailing as part of the company’s pre-Medica marketing strategy. This will be supported by a social media campaign designed to highlight the breadth of the company’s experience in developing innovative products for the medical sector.
GX Group is one of around forty companies and 85 delegates from Wales attending and exhibiting under the Welsh Government umbrella at Medica this year. Held annually in Düsseldorf, it attracts more than 132,000 trade visitors from 120 countries across all continents.
