Birmingham law firm Browne Jacobson has received a national award for delivering excellent client service from the Law Society at its annual awards event in London.
In picking up the award for Excellence in Client Service, the firm beat off competition from nine other regional, national and international firms including Berwin Leighton Paisner and Blake Morgan.
The Law Society Excellence Awards is one of the highlights in the UK legal calendar and is designed to recognise both best practice and celebrate excellence, innovation and outstanding achievement across law firms of all sizes in England and Wales.
The distinguished judging panel, which included the Legal Ombudsman Andrew Sampson and chair of the Legal Services Consumer Panel Elisabeth Davies, applauded the firm for demonstrating the highest quality and consistency of client service delivery.
The judges added: “Browne Jacobson implemented a wide range of initiatives from a traditional client charter to a modern microsite to embed exceptional client service in its practice. Practical support tools made Browne Jacobson staff ambassadors for outstanding client service.”
Earlier this year, Browne Jacobson became the first UK law firm to be awarded an ‘exceptional’ three star rating for its client service by Investor in Customers – a mark attained by only 16% of companies undergoing a first-time assessment.
The award was presented to the firm’s Managing Partner Iain Blatherwick by Andrew Caplen, President of the Law Society.
Iain Blatherwick said: “We operate in a highly competitive market place and are always looking for ways to raise the bar when it comes to delivering an unparalleled standard of service to our clients.
“Delivering client service excellence is intrinsic to Browne Jacobson‘s business philosophy so to be recognised by the Law Society for all our hard work and effort in this area is a tremendous achievement.”
Law Society President Andrew Caplen added:
“Rarely do you get such a breadth of talent under one roof and it is heartening to see the continuous good work that makes our profession what it is.
“I am glad the Law Society, through the Excellence Awards, is able to formally recognise this good work, which usually takes place quietly, out of the spotlight and as a result of many long hours.
“I congratulate each winner, highly commended and shortlisted entrant. It was a tough call for the judging panel, who had to pick winners from a really exceptional bunch of people.”
