Midlands property developers Stoford and AXA Real Estate – a leading portfolio and asset manager in Europe – have announced that the impressive new storage and distribution warehouse for Vax in Worcestershire has reached practical completion.
The building at Stonebridge Cross, in Droitwich Spa, will serve as Vax’s UK distribution centre and provides 231,420 sq ft of storage and office space.
The development, which marks a significant step in the growth of the UK’s No.1 floor care brand, also incorporates a call centre, car parking, loading yard and landscaping.
The project, completed on time and within budget, marks the final phase of a 1.2m sq ft, 17 building development project which will have brought 17 businesses and over 1,000 employees into the area since construction first began in 1997.
Vax – a Times Top 100 Employer – has agreed a 15-year lease and expects the storage and distribution warehouse to officially open for business this month (October).
David Brown, director at Stoford, said: “The completion of this project has been the result of a fantastic team effort, and all partners involved are extremely pleased with the final look of the building. This represents an excellent build which will serve Vax well for many years to come.”
He added: “This also marks the completion of the final unit at Stonebridge Cross which now boasts 17 high quality industrial warehouse and distribution buildings, providing a wide range of companies with first class facilities from which to operate.”
John Upperton, operations director at Vax said: “Everyone here at Vax is looking forward to moving into this excellent new purpose-built, modern working environment at Stonebridge Cross. We are fully focused on making Vax a great place to work, with motivated employees delivering the highest levels of service to our customers. An important part of this is creating inspiring workplaces and we’re confident that our investment in our offices in Worcestershire will help us continue to attract and retain the very best talent, as we continue to expand.”
