The continued rise of business confidence across the West Midlands was on the menu when the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) held a breakfast event in partnership with recruitment and people development agency Katie Bard.
The event, hosted by KPMG at its One Snowhill offices, gave business leaders the opportunity to hear the latest findings of the GBCC’s Quarterly Economic Survey (QES), which is supported by Katie Bard. It was the first of four economic events to be held by Katie Bard and the Chamber over the next year.
The survey found that confidence is high across the region and that the West Midlands is well equipped to build on the momentum created. The findings also underlined the need for a Skills Hub, which has been launched by the Chamber and colleges of education in Birmingham.
Insightful analysis of the report, and the economic picture in the region, was provided at the event by Tim Pile, president of the Birmingham Chamber, John Mortimer, co-founder and CEO of the Angela Mortimer group, of which Katie Bard is a member firm, along with Professor David Bailey from Aston Business School and Mike Steventon, regional chairman at KPMG.
Katie Bard is also holding a seminar entitled ‘You are who you employ: The virtuous circle of people, productivity and profit’ on the morning of November 18th at De Vere Venues, Colmore Gate in Birmingham. The event will cover how to empower and engage employees, and how to attract and retain the best talent.
