Berry Recruitment held its annual awards ceremony with 130 of its consultants from across the country attending the lavish function on London’s South Bank.
It was a celebration of 2013 when the company broke the £1m profit barrier and became one of the country’s top ten fastest growing multi-sector recruitment businesses.
Chairman Tony Berry, the former head of Blue Arrow and Recruit Plc, addressed the staff at the OXO Tower building. He congratulated them on the continued success of the consultancy and signalled ambitious growth plans.
Managing Director Chris Chown made a speech to the staff, and said: “Last year – 2013 – saw us achieve over £42m turnover creating a pre-tax profit in excess of £1m.
“And our gross profit has seen a 15 per cent increase to date this year when compared with 2013.
“Our recruitment and training programme is designed to attract and retain high quality staff, and is working well.
“The first stage of that was bringing in our new group training manager who has hit the ground running with tailored courses and inductions.
“And we are really excited about launching Ignite, our on desk training program.”
The group has nearly 30 branches across the country, including the Wild Recruitment brand in Portsmouth, Hampshire, and Poole, Dorset.
The evening saw over 30 staff recognised, and included a number of long service awards presented to those who have been with the group for a decade.
Following the presentation ceremonyduring which winners walked up a red carpet to receive their awardsthere was a sumptuous banquet.
