Cardiff-based NewLaw Solicitors, one of the leading legal practices in the UK, has marked ten years in business with a charity gala event in aid of the Child Brain Injury Trust and the NewLaw charitable fund.
The event at City Hall was attended by the firm’s staff and guests and raised £17,500 which will help children, young people and families whose lives have been affected by acquired brain injury and other charities supported by the firm’s staff. The Child Brain Injury Trust is NewLaw’s adopted cause for its tenth anniversary year and proceeds from the event’s ticket sales, raffle and auction will be used to support families in Wales.
The firm has grown continuously since it was started by Chief Executive, Helen Molyneux in 2004 and now employs 460 people in Cardiff, Bristol, Glasgow and Basingstoke. A personal injury specialist, the practice has one of the largest, most experienced catastrophic injury teams in the UK.
Ms Molyneux said the firm wanted to support the work of the Child Brain Injury Trust, which she described as ‘invaluable’.
“We understand all too well the distress that both the child and the family experience following serious brain injury,” she said.
“Having seen first-hand the difference the charity makes to our clients – families who find themselves in devastating circumstances – we’re very pleased to be able to support it in our tenth anniversary year.”
Lisa Turan, Chief Executive of the Child Brain Injury Trust, said: “Life with an acquired brain injury for a child and family is often a long journey and we will be there to offer support all the way through that journey. Without the support of organisations like NewLaw we would not be able to help the thousands of families that we do each year.”
