Property adviser GVA has stormed to the top of the Bristol agents league table. Published by the property magazine Estates Gazette, the Bristol office of GVA has risen ten places, to take the top slot in the city for the first time.
The league table looks at the amount of commercial office space leased or sold in Bristol in the 12 months to the end of June 2014.
According to Estates Gazette, GVA’s average deal size was more than double the city’s overall average, with a total of 187,479 sq ft transacted during this time. In total, Bristol agents signed for more than 804,000 sq ft of office space.
Richard Kidd, Director of Office Agency at GVA in Bristol says, “The market is back, and it looks like we’re returning take-up levels not seen since the start of the recession.
“With some good-quality, larger requirements now active in the city centre, confidence is steadily returning. Occupiers are now starting to commit to the moves they have been considering for some time which could lead to more spec schemes following the success of 2 Glass Wharf and 66 Queen Square.”
Among the transactions that helped GVA secure its No 1 position have been 20,662 sq ft to i2 at 1 Temple Quay; 25,000 sq ft sold to Verve at Company House; an out-of-town 24,582 sq ft at Highwood Pavilions, Patchway; and also 20,456 sq ft
at Westwood House, Stoke Gifford. More recently GVA advised BT on the letting of 1 Rivergate, where Ovo Energy is taking 70,000 sq ft.
