A well-established Blandford carpet company has rented an industrial unit on a new business park through Myddelton & Major.
Wessex Carpets, which also has a shop in the town centre, has signed the lease for 17 Glenmore Business Park in Wendal Road.
Myddelton & Major, which is based in Salisbury, successfully negotiated the five year lease after marketing the 1,357 sq ft (126 sq m) property at an asking rent of £10,500 per annum.
Rachael Ward, chartered surveyor at Myddelton & Major, said: “Wessex Carpets are a very well known and successful business in the Blandford area.
“This new lease for a sizeable industrial unit will deliver extra capacity for the company to continue to grow over the coming years.
“It is one of just a number of leases which we have successfully completed and are progressing in north Dorset, as the area continues to become a popular location in which to trade.”
Wessex Carpets has been based in Blandford since 1985 and provides a range of services, including carpet, vinyl flooring, tiling and laminates.
Its shop is in Barnack Walk, off West Street, in Blandford town centre.
The new lease comes hot on the heels of Myddelton & Major successfully agreeing terms with TBC print services for unit 15 on the business park.
A new development, Glenmore Business Park has ground and first floor accommodation.
Units are suitable for fitting out as office space, or use as light workshop/assembly.
Each has a personnel door, cloakroom and kitchen.
They are available either to buy freehold but the developers would consider granting new leases. New tenants are being offered their first six months rent free, subject to conditions.
