Over 20 members of WSX Enterprise’s Friday Club were able to pick the brains of Poole Council officers at a recent meeting.
The monthly get-togethers are chance for budding business people to hear from speakers, ask questions of professionals and to network.
Poole council staff with expertise in economic development, planning enforcement, environmental health and trading standards attended the latest meeting to share their knowledge.
Various issues were raised at the club, which meets at the Littledown Centre in Bournemouth, and the council officials were able to advise members about various laws.
WSX Enterprise is a business support service, and the Driving Urban Enterprise project, which runs the Friday Club, aims to help businesses get off the ground and prosper.
It works across Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth and Portland and can assist new enterprises in a variety of ways.
Samantha Everard, from WSX, who presented a seminar on marketing at the meeting, said: “We were very grateful to the officers from the Borough of Poole who attended.
“Their knowledge can be of great help to start-up businesses – it can be the difference between someone making an expensive mistake or seeing their business take-off.
“To have them at the Friday Club where our members could ask questions and receive guidance on certain issues was invaluable.”
