Paramount Interiors has made a key appointment to its board as part of the company’s continuing strategy to increase its share of the UK office design, fit-out and furniture market. The Cardiff headquartered business has appointed Alasdair McIntyre to the newly created position of Sales and Marketing Director.
Mr McIntyre joins from global retail interior design agency, Double Europe, which he co-founded in 2009 and where he was Managing Director prior to a management buy-out in January 2014. During his time at the Bristol based company, revenues grew to over £5million with clients including blue chip brands such as Nike, FitFlop, Havaianas, Timberland and Vans.
Prior to establishing Double Europe, he was Head of New Business for the German retail design specialists, ARNO Group, where he was responsible for leading a European sales team and secured international retail programmes for brands including Hyundai Motor Company, The North Face and Johnson and Johnson.
Mr McIntyre, originally from Oxfordshire, but now a resident of Penarth, joins Paramount at a time when it is targeting significant growth in the number of design, fit-out and furniture projects that it undertakes in the UK and in particular within the London market, where it currently has a sales office. He will be responsible for the onward strategy and growth of the business, including all personnel and external marketing partners.
The company recently completed the design, fit-out and furniture supply for the new ground-breaking Life Sciences Hub project at 3 Assembly Square in Cardiff Bay. It is currently working on another major project in Cardiff Bay, GloWorks – the Welsh Government’s new flagship centre for the creative sector at the Port Teigr regeneration scheme. The building will house two of Wales’ leading companies in the creative industry, including independent television production company, Boom Pictures and digital agency, Sequence. Outside of Wales, Paramount recently completed a major design, fit-out and furniture project in London for leading managed services IT provider Adapt, who opened a new office in the Broadgate Tower, which featured in the James Bond film, Skyfall.
Commenting on the appointment, Nigel Roberts, Managing Director of Paramount said, “I’m delighted to welcome Alasdair to the board at Paramount. We are a very ambitious company and we look for that trait in anyone that we recruit. I can safely say that Alasdair brings that to our team. He has worked with some of the world’s biggest brands and shares the same drive and commitment to the highest standards of design, quality and service that we deliver consistently to our clients. I’m sure that he will play a leading role in helping us to achieve our ambitions over the coming years.”
Mr McIntyre commented “Paramount has an excellent reputation within our core markets and has real depth of experience and expertise in full service design & build of office interiors across the UK. The growth potential to expand further is really exciting and I look forward to playing my part in the continued success of Paramount.”
