Australian ladies fashion retailer, Taking Shape, has opened its first Scottish outlet in Aberdeen.
The plus size brand specialist has taken a 10 year lease on the former Austin Reed store at 253 Union Street. FG Burnett acted on behalf of local investor Craigellen Assets Ltd in negotiating the lease with an initial annual rent of £60,000 for the 3,700 sq ft unit.
FG Burnett director, Richard Noble, said: “This is another positive development in maintaining Union Street’s position as an important retailing location. It’s great to welcome a retailer of Taking Shape’s reputation to Aberdeen and it creates a feel-good factor on Union Street which has seen a significant improvement in occupancy levels in recent months.”
Taking Shape managing director, Alla Buinowicz, said: “Our new Aberdeen store is our very first Taking Shape store in Scotland which is incredibly exciting for us. We believe that there is a great demand here for both our garments and commitment to providing a unique and caring shopping experience.
“Everything we do is about the customer, what makes her look good and what makes her feel great. We’re more than just a retailer and our goal is for women to enter as customers and leave as friends.”
Culverwell acted for Taking Shape.
