Businesswomen are being urged to showcase their achievements and put themselves forward for a prestigious award – before it’s too late.
The countdown is onto submit entries for this year’s Businesswoman of the Year awards.
The awards, which have been running for 32 years, aim to highlight great role models and mentors by encouraging and inspiring women to reach their potential.
Candidates from all industries are being encouraged to put forward their nominations with the winner being announced at the Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel near the NEC on Friday, October 10.
Entries for the awards close on Friday, September 19 and organisers are hoping to attract late nominations.
Awards chair Judy Groves said:“There are such a huge number of women who have great success stories to tell and we want to celebrate those who are making a difference and showcasing their value.
“We don’t want anyone to feel shy about entering the awards as this is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the inspirational and entrepreneurial achievements of women in industry.
“This year there is a particular emphasis on encouraging nominations from the engineering and manufacturing sectors as we hope to inspire more young women to consider a career in these sectors.
“The awards attract entries from all over the UK and can also be a fantastic way to boost your profile as well as a providing a great opportunity to network with some of the most successful business women in Britain.”
Former Trade Minister Lord Digby Jones is event ambassador while previous winners include West Ham United Vice-Chairman and Apprentice star Karren Brady CBE, as well as former Dragons’ Den star Hilary Devey CBE and Sarah Tremellen, Founder and Chief Executive of Bravissimo.
