Regus, the world’s largest provider of flexible workspace, is to open its third Aberdeen location at the rapidly expanding ABZ Business Park next to Aberdeen Airport.
Regus has agreed a deal with the developers of the 54-acre business park, ABZ Developments, to occupy the Cirrus office building as part of an innovative partnership agreement. The centre will provide a range of fully-equipped workspace options and business services, including a business lounge, part-time and Virtual Offices, serviced offices, meeting rooms and video conferencing.
The London Stock Exchange listed company operates a network of 2000 business centres across 104 countries, accommodating a wide variety of users including start-ups, multi-national-firms and mobile workers seeking somewhere productive to work when on the move.
ABZ said their confidence in pushing ahead with the speculative development of the two-storey Cirrus building had been rewarded by securing an occupier of Regus’s international status.
Tim Stevenson, Director of ABZ Developments Ltd, said: “Regus is a recognised international brand and a great name to add to the growing list of leading businesses which have chosen ABZ as their preferred location. The Cirrus building suits Regus’s operational needs ideally and it is pleasing to secure this operator at ABZ.
“Business centre options in the Dyce area are limited and their offering will be attractive to a range of business operators, from small start-ups to larger companies who require short-term accommodation for project teams.
“We have formed an innovative partnership agreement with Regus which suits both parties and the success of the Regus business centre will bring mutual benefits.”
The Business Centre will be handed over to Regus in late November with it opening for business shortly thereafter.
Steve Purdy, Managing Director at Regus said: “We are excited to open our new centre in ABZ Business Park and are already witnessing strong demand for our flexible workspace proposition in Aberdeen’s most vibrant new business location.
“The Cirrus building is an exciting addition to our network in Scotland, providing a new business location with excellent transport links, in close proximity to the airport. We expect strong take-up from local small businesses, start-ups and remote workers as well as national firms opening satellite offices and global businesses establishing a footprint in Scotland.”
ABZ Developments also revealed they have awarded a further contract to Balfour Beatty for the construction of an additional 20,000 sq ft three-storey office building, with work already started on-site and completion expected in July 2015.
The speculative Grade A Stratus building represents a further £4 million investment, taking ABZ’s total investment at the business park to £30 million so far.
Mr Stevenson added: “It is another speculative office facility and based on current market demand we are confident there will be a good bit of interest in Stratus, which should hopefully lead to another occupier agreement before completion.”
Located on the approach to Aberdeen International Airport, committed occupiers at ABZ include AFS Technologies Ltd, Bowtech Products Ltd, Axiom Process Management, SPX, Exova, Marriot Moxy, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express.
