Businesses on Binley Industrial Estate, situated on the outskirts of Coventry are now celebrating the arrival of superfast broadband.
The new high-speed broadband is being supplied by Coventry-based WarwickNet, one of the UK’s fastest-growing business-grade broadband providers.
WarwickNet business development manager Mark Davison said that two-thirds of the industrial estate – some 100 businesses – would be covered by the new provision.
Colin MacLeod is managing director of Mustard Presentations, which provides audio visual equipment and digital innovations for conferences, exhibitions and events in the UK and Europe and is based at the Herald Business Park within Binley Industrial Estate.
He said: “We have major issues and frustrations with our current Internet provider. As a supplier to the conferences and events sector we have data heavy files and graphics and it has been a real challenge to send them. Speeds have been a nightmare.
“We also have an IP-based telephone system and keep losing the signal and therefore losing calls, which is not helpful in business!
“We very much welcome the arrival of WarwickNet and look forward to better things to come and to being able to become more productive,” said Mr MacLeod.
Ben King, managing director of WarwickNet, said his company would also soon be rolling out superfast broadband to the nearby Charter Avenue Industrial Estate and Seven Stars Industrial Estate.
Chief operating officer Jon Earnshaw said: “We have several more parks in the pipeline where tenants are desperate for business-grade broadband, high-speed leased lines and multi-site MPLS networks.”
WarwickNet is also providing superfast broadband – between 10 and 40 times faster than the existing provision to companies on a wide range of business and industrial estates in the Midlands, including: Tachbrook Park in Warwick, Coventry Business Park, Meriden Business Park, and University of Warwick Science Park in Coventry, Blythe Valley Park and Monkspath Business Park near Solihull, and Corbygate Business Park in Northamptonshire.
