Fast-growing technology company Tuffscreen Screen Protection Ltd has moved to larger premises in Bristol to allow for further expansion.
Tuffscreen manufactures custom-made screen protectors to provide unrivalled scratch and impact protection to the mobile computers and barcode scanners, satnavs, and smartphones used by companies in the field. The unique technology developed by founder Tristan Fowler bonds a hard-coated anti-glare film to a self-adhesive gel layer to give radically improved performance.
Now the company, which was formed in late 2011 and was awarded its first round of capital funding in 2013, has moved into larger new premises in Southmead Road, Filton in Bristol. Property consultants Knight Frank advised Tuffscreen, which has taken a five year lease on the 2,600 sq ft building at an annual rental of £18,200, and also carried out refurbishment and alteration works to the premises. The landlord was advised by BNP Paribas.
Tristan Fowler said: “We have a globally unique technology and business is going really well with prestigious customers across many industrial sectors in the UK and we look forward to growing into Europe and North America in the coming years.
“The move will allow us to grow significantly in the near future. The building has space for production, storage, offices, and distribution facilities and we have invested in laser cutting equipment to enable us to bring in-house some of the processes currently carried out under sub-contract.
“Later in the year we will also hope to be launching a new range of products with an anti-microbial treatment for use in schools and hospitals.”
Tuffscreen expects to create at least 10 new jobs over the next three years.
