Further development could be on the cards for Henry Boot Development’s flagship business park, with a planning application submitted for a new, speculative 100,000 sq ft warehouse and office building.
If the proposed scheme at Markham Vale gets the go ahead, building work on the site at Markham Lane could commence in the autumn, bringing more construction jobs to the area.
The development is part funded by the £14.2m Enterprise Zone grant announced in June this year and will provide a new high specification distribution/manufacturing building. This speculative development maintains the momentum already achieved and aims to attract a top quality tenant to join other occupiers who have recently moved to the business park, such as Andrew Page and Squadron Medical.
Vivienne Clements, Director of Henry Boot Developments, commented: “This announcement is excellent news for Markham Vale and, should planning be granted, we are committed to start building before the end of the year. It is hoped a building of this magnitude will attract significant investment into the area which will undoubtedly create new employment opportunities.”
Chesterfield Borough Council is set to consider the planning application in September.
