The Clubhouse, London’s leading business club, lounge and meeting space, has opened a second location in the heart of Mayfair. The latest stylish private members club, created by design and fit-out specialist Area Sq, provides today’s business people and entrepreneurs with a new creative environment and high-end flexible working space in the capital.
Designed to build on the success of The Clubhouse at 11-14 Grafton Street, the new 6,000 sq ft space at 50 Grosvenor Hill has a contemporary feel, set within a brand new building originally designed for open-plan workspace. A new coffered ceiling incorporates recessed directional lighting to provide members with an immediate sense of arrival and sets the smart, creative tone for the rest of the club.
A sense of openness and connectivity between the ground and lower ground floors has been created by Area Sq to give a sense of one space; this includes the installation of a bespoke staircase to link the two floors. A central coffee area has been incorporated into the club, where elegant timber fin details have been used to subtly divide the space and provide a sense of privacy within the lounge spaces.
Designed to provide flexibility for members and a luxurious, professional space in which to work, meet and host events, Area Sq has created open-plan lounge spaces, informal flexible meeting areas, a range of high-specification meeting rooms and boardrooms, hot desks, touchdown spaces and an events space for up to 150 people. To capture the different mood of each space, Area Sq has used a variety of contemporary lighting products, wall coverings and striking signature furniture pieces which were provided by their sister company Sketch Studios.
The Clubhouse attracts members from a broad range of industries and sectors, across London, the UK and overseas. Whilst catering to the growing market of start-ups and early-stage businesses that operate with no permanent office, The Clubhouse also attracts many larger, established businesses that are looking for a more flexible working or meeting space in the heart of London, in addition to their main premises.
Andy Mackenzie, Head of Design at Area Sq comments: “At The Clubhouse, we have set out to provide a chic and stylish backdrop to business meetings, events and everyday working. The overall look is designed to be smart, casual and creative – definitely not corporate. We want The Clubhouse to appeal to all sectors and types of business people.”
Adam Blaskey, CEO and founder of The Clubhouse, comments: “The Clubhouse is a melting pot for creative entrepreneurs who want a professional space in which to work and meet within a sophisticated and business focused environment that inspires them – not a bland hotel lobby or conference room. By working closely with Area Sq and Sketch Studios, the team have come up with exactly the right type of workspace design, which we hope will do great things for many of our member’s business performance and continue to help them thrive and prosper.”
