Employers have been urged to sign-up to a jobs and careers fair organised by the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP).
The event is fully funded by the LEP and is free for exhibitors and youngsters, parents and adults to attend who are seeking careers advice and apprenticeship opportunities as part of one of the CWLEP’s aims of improving skills in the area.
The free session is to be staged in Hall 3 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on Monday, November 3 between 1pm and 7pm.
Colleges, universities and training providers across Coventry and Warwickshire have been invited and the CWLEP is keen for more employers from a variety of industries to come along to exhibit as well.
Rachael Stewart, of the CWLEP, said the jobs and career fair was an opportunity for youngsters and adults to jump-start their future.
“There will be a wealth of advice and information available at the event from experienced employers, colleges, universities and training providers to provide the next step in their future,” she said.
“Students in Years 10 to 13 in schools throughout Coventry and Warwickshire have been invited along with school leavers and there will be a chance to find out more about higher apprenticeships, apprenticeships, traineeships and college and university courses.
“There will also be experts on hand to give careers advice and employers have been invited to promote the job vacancies they have.
“We would like more employers to take a stand whatever sector they specialise in because this is a great opportunity to fill their vacancies and promote their company to potentially the next generation of their workforce as well as adults who are currently seeking employment.
“Skills is a high priority for the CWLEP and with the economy starting to recover, the opportunities to gain an apprenticeship or secure a job alongside good training and career prospects is increasing.
“There are so many interesting and varied jobs available for school leavers and adults because of the nature of the businesses we have in Coventry and Warwickshire.
“This jobs and careers fair is not simply aimed at upcoming school leavers because Jobcentre Plus will be attending as well to promote the help and vacancies they can offer to adults.
“We want this to be the biggest jobs and career fair in Coventry and Warwickshire as we connect youngsters and job seekers with employers and career opportunities.”
