A 60,000 sq ft industrial unit in Pontypridd, formerly home to Melloy, has been sold.
Palletised distribution specialist, Interhaul Pallet Services Ltd has purchased the unit located on Treforest Industrial Estate.
The unit was formerly the base for family owned foundry and precision engineering business, Melloy who fell into administration in 2013. DTZ agreed the deal on behalf of Roger Hale and Rob Lewis of PwC who were appointed as Joint Administrators.
The unit comprises a two storey detached industrial unit incorporating 4,553 sq ft of office space and includes a yard area, open storage and car park. The unit forms part of the well established Treforest Industrial Estate in Pontypridd which benefits from strong transport links to the M4 Motorway.
Rob Ladd, Director in DTZ’s Industrial agency team commented: “The building is unusual in that it was previously a manufacturing facility built on two levels. However Interhaul appreciated that it is well located on the Treforest Estate adjoining the A470 and were willing to alter the premises to meet the needs of their logistics business.”
Mark Waite, Director at Interhaul Pallet Services Ltd, added: “After a near two year search for a site that would accommodate our ever increasing fleet, DTZ introduced us to a site in the ideal location. With some alteration and refurbishments we believe that it will be an ideal distribution and warehousing site for our business. Directly adjacent to the A470 Trunk Route and 3 miles north of Junction 32 of the M4, this site gives us excellent links to road infrastructure, giving us further opportunities for fulfilling our clients’ needs.”
