A Senior Planner from the Midlands office of leading commercial property adviser, GVA has been recognised as one of the very best candidates to have passed a leading industry assessment set by professional body, the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Miles Drew, a member of the company’s Planning, Development and Regeneration team is one of just 12 young professionals from over 500 applicants recognised as an Outstanding Achiever for the quality of his submission to the RTPI’s Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), the gateway to Chartered Planner status.
Craig Alsbury, Senior Director in GVA’s Planning, Development and Regeneration team, said: “From the moment that Miles joined the company, it was clear that he was passionate about the profession, highly intelligent and driven to succeed. We have made a conscious effort to engage him in as broad a range of instructions as possible, and to increase the complexity of his work over time, and this has stood him in good stead.
“Absolutely nothing has phased him and he is already managing major projects and Client portfolios, including our work for Lidl which he has played a significant part in growing over the last couple of years.

Miles joined as a graduate after studying town planning at the University of Sheffield. He is currently advising a range of public and private sector clients on the planning potential of their land and property, preparing planning appraisals and planning applications and is advising on the complex planning assumptions that underpin valuations in land compensation cases..
Miles said: “Throughout my time at GVA, I have worked extremely hard to develop my skills and experience and I am thrilled to have had this recognised by the RTPI. This award is a testament to the opportunities and encouragement from GVA to increase the breadth and depth of my experience.”
