Two new graduate surveyors have been appointed to the Birmingham office of national commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) as it continues its commitment to growing the business.
Sam Dowson and Bhav Purewal join the company after impressing directors with their enthusiasm and drive.
Sam completed five months’ work experience at the company’s Guildford office after graduating from the University of the West of England in 2013 with a BSc (Hons) in business enterprise.
He will work in LSH’s industrial department with Alex Carr, director of industrial and logistics agency at the Birmingham office, and will be supported by the firm as he begins his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and a Master’s conversion course in September.
Sam said: “Joining LSH is a great opportunity for me as I start my career as a chartered surveyor and I am very grateful for its support so I can undertake the conversion course.”
Bhav, who is from Sutton Coldfield and attained a BSc (Hons) in building surveying from Leeds Metropolitan University, joins LSH from Holland & Barrett (part of NBTY Europe), where he was a graduate surveyor.
He is part-way through his APC to become a MRICS chartered surveyor and has three years’ property and construction management experience. He will join the lease advisory team in Birmingham under the guidance of director Gareth Lester-Jones.
“Having spent two years client side, I was keen to take the next step in my career with a company where I could learn the many different aspects of surveying and LSH was the perfect fit,” he said. “I’m looking forward to continuing my APC programme with the experienced staff here.”
Adam Ramshaw, head of office at LSH in Birmingham, said: “We’re always keen to nurture great talent and I believe Sam and Bhav have the makings of becoming excellent chartered surveyors. “
“Sam proved his commitment to a career in property by undertaking a range of work experience in our Guildford office with enthusiasm, while Bhav is already part-way through his APC, having gained a good range of experience.”
