Location content and services provider emapsite is celebrating a double accreditation in world class management standards.
The Eversley-based company, which provides hosted maps and data through an innovative web capability, has gained formal international certification for both quality control and information security.
The standards, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 27001:2013 respectively, recognise that emapsite has developed a systematic approach to ensuring customers have a reliable, secure platform for accessing and integrating web map services.
James Cutler, emapsite CEO, said: “ISO is a fantastic feather in our cap. These accreditations are a further demonstration of our expanding services capability. Together they position us among a tiny handful of providers in the location content sector who can cite ISO in procurement exercises and contracts with larger business and government clients.”
The accreditations follow a rigorous independent assessment across a range of explicit management criteria. For example, to achieve ISO 27001, emapsite had to demonstrate a coherent and comprehensive suite of information security and risk management controls.
The three-year certificates for both standards involve ongoing audit programmes designed to demonstrate the continuing pursuit of excellence.
The ISO successes come just two months after emapsite reinforced its cloud hosting credentials with a place on G-Cloud 5, the latest version of the UK government’s CloudStore online catalogue.
G-Cloud 5 is designed to offer public sector buyers a pre-tendered route to cloud-based products and services through an approved framework of suppliers.
Emapsite was originally awarded a listing at the first G-Cloud launch in February 2012 and has continued to be a preferred supplier ever since.
Mr Cutler added: “With our latest G-Cloud listing and now our twin ISOs, we have further independent endorsement of our already successful platform. This is proof of our best-in-breed capability for direct customers and partners seeking a secure platform of location content services with scalability, quality control, resilience and performance.”
