Evans Property Group has leased the 43,097 sqft Unit 23 at its flagship Millshaw Park Industrial Estate in Leeds to expanding local firm, Express Bi-Folding Doors (EBFD) who is investing £1m in new machinery and seeking some 25 staff for its new base. DTZ acted for Evans in securing the 20 year lease and EBFD was unrepresented.
EBFD has enjoyed consistent growth since it was established seven years ago and the company, which regularly has its products featured on TV programmes such as Grand Designs, has showrooms in Garforth, Glasgow, Redhill and Romford. EBFD is relocating its manufacturing and distribution operations from three sites, two in Garforth and one in Swillington which total around 21,000 sqft into the bigger, modern 43,097 sqft Unit 23 at Millshaw Park.
The firm has invested around £1m into pioneering machinery for its new operation and is in the process of recruiting to fill some 25 vacancies with the intention to be operational at Millshaw Park by September this year. EBFD states that the increased production capacity will enable it to exceed its forecast £20million turnover in its next financial year.
Millshaw Park is one of Leeds’ most established industrial locations with just under 500,000 sqft of industrial and warehouse accommodation in 29 units ranging from 2,600 sqft to 60,000 sqft fronting the Leeds Outer Ring Road. Existing occupiers include DHL, Crystal Electronics and PM Displays.
