CBRE announces new tenant for George House

Leading property consultant CBRE has announced a prominent letting within George House in Glasgow to law firm Anderson Strathern on behalf of landlord Redevco.

Overlooking George Square, the 6,000 sq ft unit sits on the third level of the iconic property and has been taken by the new occupiers on a ten year lease.

The building, which has been awarded a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ accreditation, as well as an EPC ‘B’ rating, boasts an enviable position within Glasgow’s centre, just a short walk from Queen Street Station and Buchanan Street Subway as well as the city’s main shopping thoroughfares.  It was refurbished in 2012 and comprises two interconnected buildings over six storeys with a landscaped central courtyard with secure covered car parking.

Anderson Strathern has moved to its new premises from Lomond House, just across the Square.

Andrew Lothian, managing partner at Anderson Strathern, said: “This has been a great move for the firm. It was important to us to remain in the heart of the city centre and you can’t get more central than George Square. Our new offices at George House are perfectly suited to our needs, with flexible office space allowing room for expansion.”

Other occupiers within George House include Speirs and Jeffrey, Network Rail, Mitchells Robertson and Invicta.

CBRE acted on behalf of landlord Redevco. Andrew Foulds at Redevco said: “We are pleased to welcome such a prestigious name as Anderson Strathern into our strong list of occupiers within George House.  I’m confident the firm will benefit greatly from its new premises.”

Alastair Urquhart, associate director at CBRE, said: “George House is a sought-after building in Glasgow thanks not only to its prime location and access to public transport and amenities, but also its excellent specifications and adaptable floor space. The fact that Anderson Strathern has moved from just across the Square to take up a unit within George House speaks volumes for the property’s quality.”

CBRE acted on behalf of Redevco. Anderson Strathern was represented by Montagu Evans.
