A training and recruitment firm is moving to a landmark office in the heart of Leicester following successful negotiations. Pearson Anderson Ltd, which specialises in the healthcare sector, is to occupy part of the Equinox building.
The building is being jointly marketed by agents APB and Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH).
Jane Taylor, director of office agency at LSH in Leicester, said growing optimism in the business sector had led the company to expand within the city to take 8,300 sq ft of the high quality office building in Burley’s Way.
The specialist recruiter has signed a lease and expects to move from its existing headquarters in Rutland Street in September.
The high-spec office, which is one of Leicester’s most imposing well known buildings, has undergone further upgrading after landlords Delph Property Group invested in improvements, bringing in a top Italian designer to work on the reception and common areas.
“This is a significant office building in the centre of Leicester and it is great to have the first tenants occupying this quality space,” said Jane.
“It is yet another demonstration of the confidence that is returning to the business sector in the city and East Midlands as a whole. We are also in discussion with other local businesses who have expressed interest in the remaining two 15,000 sq ft floors which are available at the competitive rental of £6.50 per sq ft.”
Reg Pollock, of APB, said: “Equinox is an impressive office space in Leicester and the landlord has spent considerable sums to upgrade the reception areas, surpassing any original brief. We’re delighted to welcome Pearson Anderson to the building and look forward to more businesses moving there.
“Grade A office space in Leicester city centre is now very limited and Delph, the landlords, have recognised this. The Equinox building offers fantastic space, ready to go, and there are very few buildings in the city that can do this for tenants.”
Amit Kainth, of Pearson Anderson, said its expansion programme would see it increase its workforce when it moves across the city.
“We wanted to stay within Leicester city boundaries and Equinox was the ideal solution for us,” he said. “The training and recruitment sector is looking very buoyant at the moment so we are keen to grow the business here. By moving to Equinox we can begin a new chapter of our business.”
Equinox comprises 41,000 sq ft of Grade A office space with secure car parking, as well as access to additional off-site car parking. It has comfort cooling, suspended ceilings with computer lighting, high-speed lift and security control by key fob/swipe card.
It combines the convenience of a city centre location with the accessibility of an out-of-town business park. Just 10 minutes from J21 of the M1, it is located opposite the city centre bus station and within walking distance of Leicester railway station.
