Work has begun on the first speculative office development in the Exeter area since the Credit Crunch.
The new office building will be situated at the entrance to Woodbury Business Park, which is located on the outskirts of Exeter, approximately 4 miles from Junction 30 of the M5, and will offer 5,600 sq ft of office space over two floors when completed in November. The whole of the first floor has already been pre-let, and discussions are underway with potential occupiers for the remainder.
Enabling works are complete, and demolition is now underway of the barn which stood on the site, as this picture shows.
Richard House, of GB House & Son, comments: “This next phase of Woodbury Business Park’s expansion will not only create more space, for which there is a clear demand, but it will also enhance the quality of the working environment for our existing occupiers, with more facilities and parking being created. After years of planning, I am delighted to see work commencing at a time when most of Exeter’s commercial developments remain on the drawing board.”
The office building is only part of the project currently underway for the expansion of Woodbury Business Park. Also under construction are warehouse units ranging from 800 to 8,000 sq ft, which will be available from January 2015. Occupiers of the existing 21 business units at Woodbury Business Park include Ocean Physio, Oakloft and House-It Self Storage.
