A 51,680 sq ft warehouse in Bridgend has been sold to South Wales Police for an undisclosed sum.
The premises were formerly the home of Finnish consumer brands company, Fiskars. DTZ’s Cardiff office and local agent Watts and Morgan acted jointly on behalf of Fiskars, whilst Bridgend County Borough Council acted for South Wales Police, who will be using the unit as a warehouse and transport depot for their operations.
Located off Main Avenue, the primary road serving the Brackla Industrial Estate, the unit is one mile north of Bridgend town centre and one mile south of Junction 36 of the M4 motorway. It comprises a detached industrial / warehouse unit and includes 6,165 sq ft of office space spread over three floors.
Chris Yates of DTZ’s Industrial agency team commented: “Fiskars sought to surrender their lease at the site after relocating their UK operations to Nottingham. We are delighted that the sale to South Wales Police completed in a timely manner whilst enabling our client, Fiskars, to dispense their liability at the property. It was equally satisfying that a local occupier will continue to operate from the site going forward.”
