Leading global athletics products company, New Balance, has leased the 30,666 sq ft Appleton House office building at Birchwood Point Business Park on a 10 year term to create a new EMEA headquarter operation. CBRE represented New Balance and Savills acted for the landlord, Aviva.
Appleton House will become the EMEA headquarters for New Balance and is located in Birchwood, one of the North West’s most successful business locations mid-way between Manchester and Liverpool.
CBRE’s building consultancy team has been appointed to design and manage the fit-out of Appleton House and work is due to start on site this month in order for the teams to move into the building in September.
Michelle Rothwell, Senior Surveyor of Office Agency at CBRE’s Manchester office, comments; “We conducted an extensive search on behalf of New Balance and Appleton House matched their requirement for a stand-alone headquarter building with potential to create the modern working environment they are seeking to reflect the nature of their brand.”
Oliver Thomas, Associate Director of Building Consultancy at CBRE’s Manchester Office, comments; “CBRE’s Building Consultancy team has been appointed to provide all Project Team Services, including Project Management and Cost Consultancy, Architectural and Interior Design, Engineering Services and CDM coordination. We have been presented with a very exciting brief, challenging our design team to create a modern, vibrant and unforgettable office space that reflects New Balance’s heritage and vision for the future. We are all looking forward to work starting on site at the end of the month.”
Julian Cobourne, Asset Manager at Aviva, added: “Aviva Investors are committed to providing high quality office space and we set out with a clear strategy for Appleton House. Having undertaken a significant refurbishment, it is satisfying to be attracting a tenant of the profile and quality of New Balance. This location remains highly attractive for office occupiers and this letting is testament to the investment in the building and the high quality refurbishment.“
