A Warwick-based business intelligence and data analytics firm has boosted its own business performance and secured major growth.
Informance, which is based at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Warwick Innovation Centre on Gallows Hill, specialises in providing the QlikView Business Discovery platform which helps businesses to improve and monitor their financial performance.
The company, which was established in 2005, works with around 60 clients from a wide range of sectors across the UK and Ireland to help them improve strategic decision making, operational efficiency and profitability with QlikView.
Over the last year, Informance has witnessed a 30 per cent increase in growth and continues to secure around two new client contracts every month.
Informance currently employs nine permanent business consultants as well as up to five temporary consultants with each specialising in the development of industry specific QlikView dashboards that provide organisations with a transparent view of their business data.
Managing director Barry Talbot said the company’s recent growth is likely to boost the recruitment opportunities available at the firm in the near future.
He said: “We are delighted to have achieved such significant growth over this past year, which has largely been supported by a number of new client wins.
“Our business consultants work with customers from a wide-range of sectors including top tier law firms, blue-chip manufacturers, leading finance and technology companies and major retailers.
“Each consultant spends a fair amount of time understanding each customer’s unique business requirements in order to ensure that they get the very best from their QlikView application.”
He added: “Northampton-based Greencore which manufactures and supplies sandwiches to Marks & Spencer, was able to boost its sales throughput significantly, resulting in a 20 per cent increase in on-shelf inventory and a 3 per cent reduction in waste using the business discovery capabilities of QlikView to improve decision-making and efficiency across the organisation.
“We have continued to grow at a steady pace since moving our operations to the University of Warwick Science Park in 2009 and have taken advantage of the flexible office space to help facilitate our expansion plans.
“We recently recruited two new business consultants to join our team and if we continue to make steady progress over the next financial year we will be looking to take on two new employees.”
Karen Aston, centre manager at the University of Warwick Science Park, said the Science Park’s central location has also been of great use to Informance.
“It’s fantastic to see Informance continue to develop from its base at the Science Park. The company has been a tenant at the park for just over five years and regularly invites customers from across the UK to attend its annual customer networking days in our conference room,” she said.
“Business intelligence software is becoming an even bigger requirement for companies looking to improve their performance and Informance not only applies its company ethos to its own growth and development plans, but also helps other businesses to meet their performance goals too.”
