Innes England has let the final unit at a popular Derby trading location to an expanding building and maintenance firm, which sees 100 per cent occupancy.
The premises, which are located at Coleman’s Yard in Alfreton Road, have been let to MBS Maintain, a Derby firm currently experiencing rapid growth.
MBS Maintain is a division of MBS Derby, which is a privately owned family-run business. Last year, it won a significant contract to carry out maintenance for shops and offices across the Midlands with the extra work leading to the need for additional premises.
A search led to a deal being secured at the Coleman’s Yard unit, which will be used as both the workshop facility and accommodation for office-based staff.
Managing director Adam Stevenson said: “Now that the economy is starting to grow again we have been experiencing a heavier workload, so we took the decision to expand both the building and maintenance sides of the operation and invest in the additional premises.
“We were already located next door and having previously addedan additional office area,we were still tight for space so this unit was ideal for us – especially now we have been able to adapt the space by fitting new mezzanine offices.”
The letting was handled by Mike Walmisley, a surveyor at Innes England’s Derby office who acted on behalf of the landlord, Willover Ltd.
He said: “MBS already had a presence in the city but the recent growth meant a need arose for additional premises, which I am delighted to say my client was able to accommodate at the same location.
“This deal is a further sign of an improving economy, given the business principally supplies services to the building industry.”
