Property consultants Alder King have let a prominent shop unit on Keynsham High Street to a local independent trader.
The property at 42b High Street in Keynsham generated substantial interest and was let very quickly after coming to the market, demonstrating renewed demand for well-located retail properties.
Emma Smith of Alder King’s retail agency team said: “We have seen an increase in local retail requirements over the past six months, with significant interest in available properties. This letting was secured at the quoting price of £17,000 per annum within a matter of weeks of coming to the market and reflects growing confidence and sales growth in the retail sector.
“Keynsham High Street has weathered the recession well, providing its local market with a good variety of national and independent shops, and has a vacancy rate well below the national average. There are still a number of unsatisfied requirements for space in Keynsham.”
The unit provides 794 sq ft of self-contained ground floor retail accommodation with loading facilities via the town’s car park.
Alder King acted for the landlord while the tenant was unrepresented.
