One of the UK’s leading recruitment companies has extended their sponsorship of Newport Cricket Club for another year.
The agreement will see Acorn support the club as they attempt to improve their facilities. The sponsorship is helping the club to build much-needed funds in order to cater for its growing popularity.
Since Acorn began their relationship with the club, it has seen significant growth. Their girls section has developed with unprecedented success, winning Welsh and UK recognition and their junior section is also thriving.
60 girls now attend weekly sessions and the club has also formed a women’s team, who played their inaugural season in 2013
Maria Larcombe, Acorn Director of Operations in South Wales, said: “Acorn is proud to back the local community. Newport Cricket Club has an exciting vision for the future and we hope our support will contribute towards their ambition of creating opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy the game.”
The agreement between Acorn and the club also includes sponsorship of banners, logo placement on training shirts, a fixture card advert and a web link.
Junior Coordinator of Newport County Cricket Club, Dave Knight said: “We’re extremely grateful to have the continued support of a well-known company like Acorn. This support will take the club closer to developing the facilities we need to cater for our expanding teams and give more people in the community a chance to enjoy cricket.”
