Two more expanding companies have taken up a combined 16,000 square feet of commercial space at Winnersh Triangle, near Reading, indicating growing business confidence.
The new tenants are high quality digital broadcast and film product manufacturer Evertz UK Ltd and AIT, a leading data centre and secure networking technical services specialist.
The two agreements of 8,000 square foot each shows the progress made by real estate investor PATRIZIA since it acquired the 85 acre park and its 1.3 million square feet of built mixed-use accommodation in July 2013.
Evertz is moving out of its Reading town centre office into the new warehouse space at Winnersh Triangle, joining the office premises it already has there at 100 Berkshire Place. The two leases are now linked until 2021.
Natasha Boyle, Evertz’s management accountant, said: “We wanted to get our stores into a warehouse-type building and be much closer to our main offices at 100 Berkshire Place.”
AIT had outgrown its South Street premises in the centre of Reading, and Steve Bailey, managing director of AIT, said: “AIT is a fast growing IT consulting and services business serving business, education and government sectors.
“Winnersh Triangle is in a superb location with excellent road and rail links, enabling us to fulfil our current expansion plans and better serve our UK-wide customer base.”
Will Lawrie, asset manager for the park at PATRIZIA, said: “These two agreements are a vote of confidence in the strengthening economy and also Winnersh Triangle’s ability to offer flexible, well-connected, well-equipped and high quality premises.
“Current tenants are considering growth strategies, we’re attracting new businesses and the park continues to expand and evolve. It all works towards our aim of becoming the region’s premier business location.”
Formerly known as IQ Winnersh, there are more than 60 diverse companies with 3,000 employees on site. Big names include Jacobs (UK) Ltd, Virgin Media, BMC Software, Microchip, Agilent, Lloyds Bank, WH Smith and Bang & Olufsen (UK) Ltd.
There is also an additional 11 acres of development potential within the estate with further announcements to come.
Kevin Cook, partner at commercial property expert Vail Williams LLP which helped broker the deals, said: “This is excellent news for all parties and shows how Winnersh Triangle’s flexibility and location is attracting business.”
