South Wales financial services business Kymin is figuring out a way to conquer three of Wales’ tallest peaks to raise charity cash for St David’s Hospice Care.
The leading Welsh financial organisation has teamed up with Newport chartered accountancy practice Haasco for the event which takes place on Saturday, June 28.
The challenge, sponsored by Western Power Distribution (WPD), involves scaling three of Wales’ tallest peaks, Mount Snowdon, 1, 085m(3,560ft), Cadair Idris, 893m (2, 927 ft) and Pen-y-fan, 886m (2, 907ft), all in a single day.
Newport-based Kymin Managing Director Robin Hall, said: “Through wind, rain and brilliant sunshine we have been putting in some really solid training ahead of the Three Peaks of Wales challenge. We are up for it, looking forward to the day and also to recording a respectable time.”
Robin, who will be joined by team leader Chris Taylor, Ian Hall, Simon Aston, driver and David Evans, of Haasco, is now urging others thinking of taking part to do so. He says it is not only a wonderful fun event but also great for team building if you’re a business or other team based organisation.
The Three Peaks of Wales event sponsor Paul Bishop, WPD’s Corporate Communications Manager, said: “The excellent work of St David’s Hospice Care is very highly regarded and we are delighted to continue our association with the organisation by supporting the Three Peaks Challenge again this year.
“It’s a really worthwhile event which not only encourages people to enjoy the outdoors, but is brilliant for team building and great fun and all for such a great cause.”
Franca Macdonald, of St David’s Hospice Care, said: “We’re delighted that Kymin and Haasco are helping blaze a trail for us and to promote this challenge which is surely one of the most arduous and testing that we have in our eclectic catalogue of annual fund raising events.”
