Paddy Power, the Irish bookmaker, has agreed a deal to move into Smethwick as part of their growth plans across the UK.
It is taking premises at 546 Bearwood Road nearby rivals William Hill and Coral in a transaction brokered by Black Country property agents Bond Wolfe.
Formerly an opticians shop, Paddy Power has agreed a 15 year lease on the premises.
Bond Wolfe was instructed to let the 1,000 sq ft retail unit, which sits on the main thoroughfare, and quickly negotiated a package with Paddy Power which is aggressively expanding across the country.
Managing partner James Mattin said: “This deal demonstrates our ability to transact both with national operators and independent traders alike.
“Historically, this has been a popular location with retailers and Paddy Power was quick to see the prominence of this unit’s position.”
Bond Wolfe acted on behalf of the landlord and Jeremy Rubin & Co acted on behalf of Paddy Power.
