Property management team strengthened

GVA’s Birmingham-based Property Management team has been strengthened with the appointment of a new Associate. Caroline Norton has been appointed to deliver property and asset management consultancy services for GVA, having joined from Collingwood Rigby where she was employed as an Asset Manager.

Caroline has been recruited to work across a number of GVA’s key property management clients, including high profile, multi-million pound portfolios for Palmer Capital and partners, Hines Moorfield, and Argent. The service charge payments collected by GVA’s Birmingham office on behalf of landlord clients now stands at in excess of £100 million per annum.

Christopher Hipkiss, director of GVA’s Property Management Consultancy department said: “Caroline has a fantastic wealth of experience to bring to the team, enabling us to maintain the high levels of service and expertise that our property management consultancy clients expect from GVA.

“Having gained a number of significant new instructions, I am tremendously proud that the portfolios we manage now generate over £100 million per year in service charge payments. We also provide a range of other consultancy services such as utility procurement, advice on energy saving methods, and actively work with tenants and our landlord clients to manage each building innovatively, fully maximising return on investment.”

Prior to joining GVA, Caroline Norton worked at Collingwood Rigby’s Birmingham office for over six years. She had responsibility for maximising returns from several nationwide portfolios for a number of well-known institutional clients. Having commenced her career in property management in 1998, Caroline previously worked at Saville Gordon Estates plc/Industrious, CBRE (formerly Grenville Smith & Duncan) and GBR Phoenix Beard.

GVA’s client base includes the Max Industrious property portfolio that comprises 1,200 commercial units, amounting to a total of 7.5 million sq ft of predominantly industrial premises in 85 locations.

GVA also continues to provide comprehensive property management services to the Brindleyplace estate, following the acquisition by Hines Moorfield in 2010. GVA has managed Brindleyplace and The Water’s Edge since its inception in 1994, which now equates to 92,900 square metres of office space and 9,290 square metres of retail, restaurants, bars, the Mint hotel, as well as leisure attractions.
