A company which designs and manufacturers gas analysing equipment has sniffed out a new home at one of the region’s leading business and science parks.
AG Instruments, founded by Dr Hany Agaiby just four years ago, has had to expand to cope with an increase in demand for its products and has moved to a new headquarters at Stoneleigh Park.
Dr Agaiby spent two years developing the concept and design for his analysers – which can be used in a wide range of industry sectors – and the ISO9001 company is now selling its range of gas analysers across the world.
The equipment, which operate using infrared absorption technology, are lighter and more portable than traditional analysers and can detect and analyse up to 15 gases simultaneously out of a library of 500 to an accuracy of parts per million.
Dr Agaiby said the move was timed perfectly at the start of what he believes will be the company’s most successful year.
“We currently sell through a distributor which has very strong links into the power industry and that is the sector we are concentrating on at the moment. However, a key feature of our equipment’s design is the ease of customisation which allows them to be used in a large range of applications. At present, our equipment is being used in over 25 countries including the USA, China, Mexico and Nigeria, toname a few,” he said.
“We simply needed more space as the company grows to be able to accommodate all of our activities which include the assembly, calibration and testing as well as our sales and marketing operation which we are currently building.
“Our new headquarters allows us to do all those things and will allow us to expand as and when we need to.
“Our equipmentcan be used in many sectors including environmental, medical, and health and safety and the signs are that we are set for considerable growth.”
Dr Agaiby developed his product after taking voluntary redundancy in 2009 and was chosen by local MP Chris White to represent his constituency at a national exhibition called ‘Made by Britain’ which was part of London 2012.
Colin Hooper, estates director of Stoneleigh Park, said: “AG Instruments is a growing science and technology company and therefore just the sort we want to attract to Stoneleigh Park.
“Hopefully, as well as providing the company with suitable premises, we can also help its growth through linkages with other tenants here on the park and also through us being part of BEST Network, the Business Environments for Science and Technology Network.
“BEST Network is made up of six science and technology parks across the UK which have been brought together by LaSalle Investment Management, and it encourages the linking of companies either in the similar sectors or who could trade together.”
