A charity which helps those at risk of homelessness or domestic violence in Cheshire is to hold its first major fundraising activity in the county – with the help of a celebrity guest.
Arch has organised the event, a golf day to take place at Wychwood Park Golf Club on August 4th, in conjunction with financial advisers ASC Financial Management, and is looking to raise at least £5000 through their sponsors and competitors.
One of those taking part is former Premiership football referee Dermot Gallagher, who will also be providing the evening’s entertainment by regaling tales of his 30 year career in the game in his after-dinner speech.
Arch Community and Corporate Fundraiser Ray Elks said: “We recently won the contract to provide services in Cheshire East and this is our first major fundraising event since then.
“Our aim is to provide support for anyone affected by domestic violence – male or female – and those who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.
“We have 14 teams so far registered for the golf day, which is a great response, but we still have room for four more and are encouraging people to come forward as soon as possible if they want to play.”
Competitors will be greeted with a free breakfast and stay at the club for a fundraising auction and three-course meal after the day’s play.
Companies taking part this year include Prudential, Liverpool Victoria, Brewin Dolphin and Adept Vehicle Solutions.
Places are £220 for a team of four, or £65 each. Alternatively, tickets for the meal, drinks reception and Dermot Gallagher’s after-dinner speech are also available.
