Alder King, acting for The Freshwater Group in association with development consultants Total Property Solutions, has completed the letting of Unit 6 St Marychurch Court in Torquay to The Shoe Zoo, a well-established, local independent children’s footwear store.
The Shoe Zoo, run by Peter and Claire French, will relocate to the 1,500 sq ft unit at St Marychurch Court from its existing premises on Old Mill Road in the Chelston area of Torquay and will be open for business soon.
Peter French commented: “We are really excited about relocating our growing business. Having been in Torquay for eight years we are looking forward to having the space to expand in various directions.
“This move will enable us to offer more brands of children’s shoes as well as specialised dancewear and dance shoes. We also hope to draw on our experience of our thriving café business, The Clipper Café in Shaldon and will be incorporating a modern sandwich and coffee bar into the premises to utilise the prime central location.
“We are pleased to be a part of this new development and are looking forward to becoming a part of the vibrant community in St Marychurch.”
Lee Southan from Alder King’s Exeter office said: “These highly visible retail premises are a great fit for Shoe Zoo. With the new Sainsbury’s store opposite, I’m sure the relocation to St Marychurch Court will prove to be a great move and will only increase the profile of an already successful business.”
A small range of units, from 500 to 3,000 sq ft suitable for retail and other uses, including A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, are available to let at St Marychurch Court.
The Shoe Zoo was unrepresented.
