Accountancy group Smith & Williamson, which has its South Coast base in Southampton, has been awarded inaugural Nexia International Firm of the Year 2011.
The worldwide network of independent accounting and consulting firms felt that Smith & Williamson’s commitment to and participation in Nexia’s activities over many years has been immense “but this year has been even greater”.
Chris Appleton, the senior Director at the South Coast office and a well-known figure in the business community in and around Bournemouth and Southampton, is among a number of Smith & Williamson staff singled out for “significant contributions” – in Chris’ case for leading the development of a cross-border initiative within the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
International work forms a significant part of Chris’s client focus, where he makes full use of the strength and resources of Nexia International.
