GBR Phoenix Beard has recruited Nick Burrell as a Senior Surveyor in the Industrial Agency team. He joins from Gerald Eve in Birmingham, at a time when the industrial property market is enjoying revived fortunes on the back a growing manufacturing sector. Nick will work alongside Director Christian Smith, whose efforts were endorsed when the department was named Industrial Agency Team of the Year by West Midlands Insider in November 2013.
Over the last three years, GBR Phoenix Beard’s industrial agency team has secured letting mandates of over 4.5 million sqft of industrial space and, is instructed at 21 key industrial sites across the region.Recent highlights include advising International Security Printers on its acquisition of a 100,000 sqft building for state of the art purpose built premises at i54 in South Staffordshire, advising Formal Investments on the acquisition of a 425,000 sqft industrial unit at Magna Park, Lutterworth, and letting 300,000 sqft in Solihull on Elmdon Trading Estate.
Nick is looking forward to the opportunities with the independent property consultancy:
“This move allows me to concentrate on an industrial property portfolio, working on instructions for institutional clients such as Standard Life and M&G, and to continue to build specialist knowledge of the industrial property market.”
Christian Smith, Head of Industrial Agency commented:
“Nick brings much needed additional capacity and ability at a time when enquiries for industrial space are at an all-time high. Recognising the vast contribution industrialists make to the Midlands, we have dedicated significant effort into building relationships with both indigenous manufacturers and inward investors. This client focused and tenacious approach has paid real dividends in the last 12 months and we are poised to reap the rewards of this investment on behalf of our clients.”
