Secure Meters (UK) Limited in Winchester features in a list of the Central South region’s top 20 companies growing internationally in a list produced by accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP.
The top 20 have been identified as part of a Central South Mid-Market study by BDO, and is particularly timely given the government’s drive to get behind the international ambitions of medium-sized businesses (MSBs) through tailored UKTI trade advice and an intensive programme of support.
Defining the mid-market as privately-owned companies with turnovers between £10m and £300m, BDO says that MSBs represent 9% of the region’s companies, employ 45% of the workforce and generate 48% of the region’s revenue.
Arbinder Chatwal director at BDO in Southampton and head of the firm’s India Advisory Services said, “The companies we have identified are trailblazing for other MSBs who need help to understand their potential for international success. Doing business in international markets is no longer confined to the region’s biggest businesses.
“Working with many of the region’s international traders, we know that you need an international network and it’s difficult to establish that on your own. UKTI and the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce offer excellent support, as do international advisory firms such as BDO, who have local counterparts in most countries who can help with research, set up and taxation.”
