Nottingham-based company Ramtech Electronics is one of just three companies to have been highly commended in the Beaumont Safety Trophy category of the national Construction Health & Safety Group awards held recently in London.
Ramtech received the accolade for its Wireless Evacuation Systems (WES), a range of high performance and highly cost effective cutting-edge temporary fire alert products that the company has developed specifically for the construction industry.
WES is widely used by many of the major contractors across the UK – over 24,000 units have been supplied to date – to help protect workforces on construction sites whilst projects are underway and ensure that sites are fully health & safety compliant.
It meets the HSE Fire Regulations for Construction sites, European Standards covering the use of radio technology in emergency equipment, the Fire Protection Association’s Joint Code of Practice and the Structural Timber Association Joint Code of Practice.
In addition with the units being wireless, they are highly cost effective being easy to install as well as capable of being reused on subsequent projects.
“Being highly commended at such a prestigious award ceremony is great recognition for our system and we are absolutely delighted,” said Paul Henson, marketing director at Ramtech.
