One of Shropshire’s leading employment law solicitors has joined an innovative firm which aims to “rewrite the rulebook” on how to deliver legal services.
Alasdair Hobbs, who was a partner and former head of the employment department at FBC Manby Bowdler and based in the Shrewsbury office of the firm, has joined two other well respected county solicitors, his wife Lynn Hobbs and Katie Gray, as consultants for leading innovative law firm, Excello Law.
Lynn and Katie are specialists in commercial property and general commercial law.
Alasdair will bring a raft of experience to the team, specialising in advising businesses on law and best practice on employment issues.
Excello Law is a growing national firm which turns the traditional law firm model on its head by cutting out bureaucracy and giving its solicitors more control and freedom.
Mr Hobbs said the new way of working allowed solicitors to provide high quality services at very competitive prices.
He said: “I enjoyed my time at FBC Manby Bowdler immensely, but I felt the time was right for me to embark on a new challenge.
“I share Lynn and Katie’s ethos of providing first-class legal advice in a friendly and personal way, so I am delighted to be able to join them at Excello Law.
“I would like to think my experience of a wide range of employment issues will prove to be a great benefit to the team, and it enables us to expand the level of service that we offer from our respective bases in Shropshire.”
Mr Hobbs, who is vice chairman of Telford Business Club, said he was looking forward to helping Shropshire businesses with all aspects of employment law, from company restructures and pre-dismissal advice, to contracts of employment and tribunal representation.
He added: “Excello Law is an exciting company to be working with – it really is rewriting the rulebook on how to deliver legal services.
“I am confident that between Lynn, Katie and myself we have a good blend of expertise which will really be able to help Shropshire businesses with all their legal needs.”
Excello Law uses leading-edge technology to cut out the unnecessary overheads and waste normally associated with traditional law firms.
George Bisnought, managing director of Excello Law, said: “One of the key strengths of Excello Law is the experience and knowledge of our lawyers, and Alasdair fits our ethos perfectly.
“Not only does he possess a wealth of experience, but he is passionate about providing an excellent personal service for his clients. We are delighted to welcome him to the Excello Law team in Shropshire.”
